An inspector at the Izmail Investigative Isolation Center was found to be supplying narcotics and psychotropic substances to the facility. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the investigation, the inspector had reached an agreement with one of the inmates to illegally deliver drugs to the pre-trial detention center. He was using his official position to attempt to bring prohibited substances, including methadone, cannabis, and PVP, directly into the facility.

To conceal the drugs during a check, the man hid them inside a soft children's toy. The scheme was discovered during a routine attempt to bring prohibited items onto the premises of the institution. Employees of the internal control department of the Izmail investigative isolation center inspected the inspector's belongings and found the drugs hidden in the toy.

The investigation was conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation as part of a nationwide special operation called "Stop Traffic." The inspector is accused of illegally storing and transporting narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances with the intent to sell, in violation of Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces a sentence of up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. Currently, the accused is in custody.
