At a meeting of the transport committee of the Odesa city council on October 9, the main issue was preparing for a possible shortage of electricity in the winter. If the city experiences problems with electricity, and the electric transport cannot operate, it will be covered by buses.

The city authorities plan to involve between 430 and 450 private buses, as well as additional social vehicles that fully duplicate the main tram and trolleybus routes.

Currently, Odesa has 28 large-capacity buses in the municipal park, six of which are undergoing repairs. Replenishment is expected soon: Dnipro is donating seven more large buses to Odesa.

The commission also reviewed key infrastructure and social projects for the city. According to previously released plans, Odesa intends to purchase transport using a loan from the European Investment Bank for 13 million euros, and the new vehicles are planned to operate on Balkivska Street and towards the Kotovsky settlement.
