Odesa schools will not switch to remote learning due to power outages.

Schools in Odesa will continue to operate normally despite the power outages. All educational institutions are equipped with generators and fuel, according to Yuliia Filler, director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa city council. However, if there is a prolonged lack of electricity or if the temperature in classrooms falls below 17 degrees, schools may switch to remote learning.

Currently, there is no need to switch students in Odesa to remote learning due to power outages. According to Yulia Filler, director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa city council, all educational institutions in the city have generators and fuel reserves, which allows them to continue operating during power outages.

Schools daily monitor the temperature in classrooms. According to state sanitary standards, the temperature in classrooms should be between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius. If the temperature drops below the established level, the administration of the educational institution will consider switching to a remote learning format.

In addition, the city administration suggests that the duration of lessons and breaks may be shortened during power outages, in order to adapt the schedule to the situation with electricity supply. Also, in case of the inability to prepare hot meals due to the lack of electricity, children will temporarily be provided with prepared food, as stipulated by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 305.
