In Odesa, the free vaccination of children against the human papillomavirus is ongoing, which protects against nine oncogenic types. In Odesa, the free vaccination of children against the human papillomavirus (HPV) is ongoing. This vaccine provides protection against nine of the most common types of the virus, which can cause oncological diseases in adulthood.

The vaccinations are being carried out in all of Odesa's city children's polyclinics, as well as in the B. Ya. Reznik Children's Center. Vaccinations are provided for girls aged 12 to 13 years, at the expense of the state budget.

Thanks to the city's "Health" program, children from other categories can also receive the vaccine for free. At the end of September, a new shipment of the HPV vaccine, purchased with funds from the city budget, was delivered to the city's children's medical institutions. Currently, about 1200 children from the relevant categories have already received the vaccine.

Parents who want to vaccinate their child against the human papillomavirus can contact a pediatrician at a municipal medical institution with which a contract has been signed. The doctor will advise on the possibility of receiving a free vaccine and the next steps.
