The Odesa city authorities are working to restore the partial operation of Maternity Hospital No. 5 as quickly as possible, which was damaged as a result of the Russian attack on March 28. The first deputy mayor of Odesa, Alexander Filatov, reported that the city is making efforts to open the facility in the areas that have received the necessary permits from the relevant authorities. At the same time, work is continuing to restore the damaged part of the building.

According to Filatov, the main priority is the safety of women, infants, and staff. After the attack at the maternity hospital No. 5, emergency and stabilization work was carried out, including reinforcing structures, installing a temporary roof, sealing rooms, and replacing damaged windows and doors. According to the city council, the operating rooms and delivery rooms did not suffer significant damage.
