In Odesa, it is proposed to install emergency buttons in doctors' offices.

In Odesa, the possibility of installing panic buttons in doctors' offices is being considered due to incidents of attacks on medical personnel. City council members are proposing to conduct a survey among medical staff to determine who specifically needs additional protection.

In Odesa, there is a need to strengthen the safety of medical personnel due to incidents of attacks by patients and their relatives. During a meeting of the city council's permanent commission on health issues, council members emphasized that medical staff often do not report such incidents to law enforcement agencies or the management of healthcare facilities.

According to Elena Kolodenko, head of the Department of Healthcare, every medical facility in Odesa has a contract with a security company. She noted that installing panic buttons is possible upon paying for this service. Kolodenko emphasized that the directors of municipal facilities can independently decide whether to install the buttons, calculate the necessary funds, and ensure the safety of staff.

However, the deputy expressed the opinion that the situation will not change without influencing the heads of medical institutions. He emphasized the need to install buttons in each room, including for doctors, who could become targets for attacks due to their physical stature.

Following the discussion, council member Iryna Kutsenko proposed conducting a survey among doctors using Google Forms. Healthcare facility administrators should determine which staff members require additional protection. The Department of Healthcare will assess the needs and determine where the installation of buttons is necessary.
