In Odesa, officials have announced who is eligible and how to receive burial expenses.

In Odesa, the relatives of deceased pensioners may receive financial assistance for funeral expenses. For civilian pensioners, a two-month pension is paid, and for military pensioners, a three-month pension is paid, but not less than 16 640 UAH. Assistance is not provided if the deceased was fully supported by the state.

The main office of the State Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Odesa region has announced the procedure for receiving financial assistance for the burial of pensioners.

The amount of assistance depends on the type of pension the deceased was receiving. For example, for civil pensioners, a two-month pension is paid, which was the amount they received at the time of their death. For military pensioners, the amount of assistance is three months' pension, but not less than five times the subsistence minimum for working-age individuals, which currently amounts to 16 640 UAH.

At the same time, the Pension Fund emphasizes that the assistance is not paid out if the deceased was fully dependent on the state and was buried at the expense of the institution.

To receive the payment, the person who organized the burial must contact the State Pension Fund of Ukraine with the necessary documents, including a Ukrainian passport, identification code, a statement requesting assistance, a civil registry extract confirming the death, a death certificate, and bank account details for the transfer of funds. If the death occurred abroad, a legalized death certificate or another official document from the foreign country confirming the death must be provided. The legislation does not set any time limits for submitting the application.
