In Odesa, officials have detained the leaders of a company that assisted Russia in selling stolen Ukrainian grain.
The SBU detained the director of a local branch of a foreign company and the head of a laboratory in Odesa, who allegedly assisted Russia in selling Ukrainian grain, stolen from the occupied Mariupol, for over 60 million hryvnias. The perpetrators falsified documents, claiming that the grain originated from Russia.
The Security Service of Ukraine detained the head of a local branch of a foreign company and the head of a laboratory in Odesa, who are involved in the sale of Ukrainian grain stolen by Russia.
According to the investigation, in 2024, the perpetrators helped Russians conceal the origin of almost 8 tons of Ukrainian wheat, which was exported from the occupied Mariupol. The grain was loaded onto the ship "Alfa M," which is subject to sanctions, and transported to the Russian port of Temryuk, and then to one of the countries in the Middle East.
To legalize the cargo, the detained individuals, according to the SBU, obtained fabricated laboratory reports, which stated that the grain purportedly originated from Russia.
Both individuals have been arrested. They face a sentence of up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
