More than 37 million tons of grain have been collected in Ukraine, with the Odesa region leading.

More than 37,1 million tons of grains and pulses, and 13,9 million tons of oilseeds, have been harvested in Ukraine. Farmers in the Odesa region have harvested almost 5,6 million tons of grain, which is a record result. Weather conditions are making it difficult to plant winter crops.

As of the beginning of October, over 37,1 million tons of grain and oilseed crops, as well as 13,9 million tons of oilseed crops, have been harvested in Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The Odesa region is showing high yields in the harvest. According to data from October 6, farmers in the region have harvested nearly 5,6 million tons of grains and pulses from an area of 1,2 million hectares. Specifically, approximately 3,8 million tons of wheat and 1,5 million tons of barley have been harvested.

Previously, the Odesa Oblast authorities announced the completion of harvesting of early grain and pulses with a record result – over 5 million tons, with an average yield of 42 tons per hectare. Following this, agricultural producers moved on to harvesting late crops and preparing for the next planting season.

The weather conditions in the Odesa region are causing concern. The first ten days of October were almost rain-free, which has led to insufficient moisture in the upper layer of soil in many areas. According to the hydrometeorological center, this creates unfavorable conditions for seed germination and the emergence of winter crops.
