The deputy director of the "European" lyceum in Odesa was sentenced to five years in prison with a one-year probationary period for organizing a fictitious employment scheme. The relevant verdict was issued by the Primorsky District Court of Odesa on October 28.
The official fully admitted her guilt and reached an agreement with the prosecutor. She also transferred 50,000 Ukrainian Hryvnias to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the investigation, from October 2022 to November 2023, the deputy director, along with the director, organized a fictitious employment of the director's mother, who was not actually performing any work. The deputy director falsified working hours in official documents, which allowed for unjustified payment of salaries from public funds. This resulted in losses for the city budget of over 136,000 hryvnias. Materials related to the head of the school have been assigned to a separate investigation.
The party involved in the case is the "Center for Financing and Economic Activities of Educational Institutions of the Primorsky District of Odesa City." The institution provided written consent to the agreement and stated that it has no property claims against the defendant.
